Throughout my years of counselling practice, I have employed many techniques because no one technique fits all, and the skill to apply the right technique at the right time comes from a combination of education, practice, and passion for the science of psychology. Gestalt Therapy
Focus on the client's experiencing events in the present. Rather than talk about the problem, the client, at times, experiences the problem by feeling it internally, talking it out, or re-enacting it. "Focusing" which is a method that guides individuals to quietly become aware of their inner selves. By being in touch with their inner selves patients are able to resolve internal issues and make positive changes in their lives. Gestalt therapy emphasizes having an appropriate boundary between self and others.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT treatment usually involves efforts to change thinking patterns that contribute to emotional problems. While at the same time learning new behaviors, habits, and skills that can then be put into use. Not everyone who benefits from CBT has a mental health condition. CBT can be an effective tool to help anyone learn how to better manage stressful life situations.
Inner Child Healing
Every one of us has a child in us that was not loved the way he/she/they needed. Inner child work is a way to address our needs that haven't been met as children and heal the wounds that have contributed to the maladaptive behaviors we've developed.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
EFT, also known as “Tapping” is a healing technique that reduces or eliminates negative symptoms and emotions. EFT is based on modern psychology and the principles of acupuncture meridian. By tapping on specific meridian points on the face or body, while focusing on a problem, it’s possible to go from the stress response to the relaxation response, often in minutes.
Guided Imagery
The term guided imagery is the technique by which images are recalled from long-term or short-term memory, or created from fantasy, or a combination of both, in response to guidance, instruction, or supervision. Guided imagery relaxes the mind and engages the senses in the physical and emotional healing process.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a type of complementary technique in which hypnosis is used to aid in the treatment of specific symptoms.
RTT™ is a therapeutic approach that uses hypnosis with an array of techniques and tools that teach you how to communicate with your subconscious mind, directly accessing and understanding how you form beliefs as a result of an event or situation in your life and reframing the beliefs with a healthier one. Central to that is the ability to transform many clients in a single session.
RTT uses the best of hypnotherapy, cognitive and behavioral therapy and can help you overcome those persistent issues and challenges in life that you want to change and make the change stick.
